Afterschool
For many students the time between 3-8 PM is the most dangerous time of the day. In every community, boys and girls
are left to find their own recreation and companionship in the streets. An increasing number of children are at home
with no adult care or supervision. Young people need to know that someone cares about them. They need to have quality
programs that can enhance their potential while reinforcing powerful lifetime habits and attitudes. There is no need
to draw a line between after school fun, fitness and character building activities when Generation FIT becomes your partner!
Among young people, 9 of 10 say they are “better off” in organized activities but “need a push” to get involved. Some
parents are looking primarily for academic help for their kids while others seek enrichment; many want activities
that teach the value of hard work and commitment. Low-income families are more likely to want academic help for
their kids, and far more likely to be dissatisfied with what is available, especially in summer. When families in
your community look to Boys & Girls clubs, the school, YMCA or other programs for help - often there are affordable
and top-quality programs available, but will young people attend eagerly?
Generation FIT's AfterSchool module is your solution.
Gen FIT mentors attend school 22.8% more days than a
control group. (research available on request).
Those same students will attend - and be exponentially
more engaged - in your After School program. Many programs are geared to help enhance the basic skills of the students in grades K-8. The older, high school aged
students often select to work part time for added income. Often, tutors are available for: Social Studies, Reading,
Writing, English, Math, and much more,
Students often have technology or sports time after homework is completed in after school tutoring programs. Generation FIT
is a powerful partner in your quest to motivate young people to become engaged leaders in your after school program.
Generation Fit and the dance video game are so much fun, they're self-motivating. You'll discover young people can change their
attitudes towards life, while having fun and enjoying learning. It is our desire to change the attitudes of your youth
with emphasis on empowering them to be active change-agents in their own lives.

| Generation FIT Dance Game Clubs |
Across cultures, across time ... dance and music have linked generations, diverse interests and youth.
Dance video game clubs can harness the obsession today's youth has with video games and the power of music,
dance, rhythm, beat, and fun. The end result will be a magnet-like attraction for a club outreach for schools,
YMCA, Boys & Girls Clubs, church groups and more.
Generation FIT always begins with the young people themselves. Rather than begin at the competitive "I can get a
higher score than you can," platform - we start with a sharing of expertise. It's the key to best results every time.
- Kids are drawn to the video arcade environment of a video game dance club
- They come for the lights, technology, games and music
- They come for action and receive fitness opportunities
- An entire class can dance
simultaneously at two levels of
difficulty
- The BONUS is the mentoring
-peer support that is Generation
FIT

| Generation Fit Dance Game Competitions |
Hit a home run, spell better than everyone, get the best grade... so much of school and life is about competition.
Usually the competition is based on "how much better did I do than you (or the other team). A dance video game
competition can begin that way, but it usually turns out to have a very magical transition over time as
diverse groups of students practice together.
Interactive dance video games are incredibly fun and addictive, and the game is about personal betterment. Whatever score a
player gets today, they immediately want to try another song (and another) in the hopes of improving their comp score.
- Kids are drawn to the video arcade environment of a dance video game competition
- They come for the top score but leave with an appreciation of how difficult it is to improve over time
- They come for action and receive fitness opportunities
- Students of two different
ability-levels can play
simultaneously
- The BONUS is the realization of the value of PRACTICE
There is nothing like the high energy of a group of students participating in a dance video game competition.
Even more exciting is watching the "observers" as they "ghost" along with the dance steps - waiting a turn,
practicing their moves even without a dance mat.
